KING'S MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 7-2 WIN OVER ALVERNIA

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team won two of three doubles contests to start the match, then clinched the competition by winning five-of-six singles bouts as the Monarchs posted a 7-2 victory over visiting Alvernia University Tuesday at Kirby Park.

With the win King's improved to 2-0 while Alvernia slipped to 0-2.

In doubles the Monarchs received a 8-0 win from George Parkhurst and Stephen Brand as well as a 8-4 triumph by Rob Corridoni and Nathan Carl in the number one and two flights.

Parkhurst, Brand, Corridoni, and Carl then posted straight set singles wins while Ryan Hegarty added added the seventh victory of the day for the Monarchs.

King's will next play in the University of Scranton Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Scranton
