KING'S FIELD HOCKEY POSTS 9-1 WIN OVER CEDAR CREST

ALLENTOWN -- The King's College field hockey team had three different players score two or more goals each as the Monarchs registered a 9-1 victory over host Cedar Crest College Wednesday in Allentown.

With the win King's improved to 1-1 on the year while Cedar Crest slipped to 0-2.

Monaghan
The Monarchs jumped out to a 5-1 half-time lead as Alyssa Monaghan scored all three of her goals in the first half while Selina Malacari scored two of her three goals.

In the second half the Monarchs continued to dominate, scoring four unanswered goals, including a third from Malacari and two from Brianna DiMaggio. Meghan Lermond also struck net for King's. 

Monaghan finished the game with three goals and two assists while Malacari was right behind with three goals and an assist. Monaghan's eight points equals the third highest single-game total in program history

King's goalies Courtney Stefanik, Chelsea Blaney, and Paige Tedik all played but none were forced to make a save as the Monarchs defense held the Falcone to just two shots.

The Monarchs will next compete in the Misericordia Invitational, facing Ramapo Friday at 5:15 p.m. before meeting Keystone Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
