KING'S BASKETBALL TEAMS TRAVELING TO WILKES FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT DOUBLEHEADERWomen's Game Media Notes l
Men's Game Media NotesWILKES-BARRE — A pair of long-time local rivals will take to the hardwood once again Wednesday night when the King's College women's and men's basketball teams will make the four-block jaunt to face cross-town rival Wilkes University in an important Freedom Conference doubleheader at the Marts Center. The women's game tips off at 6:00 p.m. With the men's contest to follow at 8:00 p.m.
Ticket prices are Adults: $5 adults, $3 for seniors, and students are $2.

Wilkes is 7-8 overall and 2-4 in league competition after a 93-48 loss at defending Division III national champion FDU-Florham on Saturday.
Last season King's, which lost its first season-series to Wilkes for the first time since the 1996-97 season, have won 30 of the last 33 games between the programs. King's Coach Brian Donoghue is 15-3 against the Lady Colonels.

Olivia Hoffman tallies 5.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 48 blocked shots. Junior forward
Tara Zdancewicz chips in with 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds. The Lady Monarchs are averaging 60.2 points per-game while yielding 67.5 each contest.
For fourth-year coach Chris Heery's Wilkes women, senior guard Elena Stambone leads the squad with 16.1 points and 2.7 rebounds with 26 three-pointers. Senior forward Chelsea Brown follows with 11.3 points and 8.4 rebounds while junior guard Cara Basile adds 8.9 points and 5.1 boards. Sophomore guard Chelsea Smelas contributes 8.0 points and 5.5 rebounds while sophomore guard Haley Mesaros chips in with 5.1 points and 14 three-pointers. The Lady Colonels average 63.0 points per-game while allowing 66.7 each contest.

Coach J.P. Andrejko's men's squad stand at 10-7 overall and are 3-3 in the Freedom Conference following a 78-63 victory over Manhattanville on Saturday. The Colonels, under the guidance of first-year coach Izzy Metz, are 8-9 after a quality 86-75 road win over FDU-Florham on Saturday.
The game will present a contrast in styles as Wilkes is a pressure-defense, three-point shooting machine while the Monarchs are more half-court oriented and have not made thre three-pointer a large part of its offense. The Colonels have made nearly as many three-pointers (161) this season as King's has attempted (198).

The Colonels enter the event as one of the premier three-point shooting teams in the MAC. Pacing the Colonels is junior guard Steve Stravinski who averages 15.5 points and with 6.5 rebounds and 56 three-pointers. Straviski has made one less three-pointer than the entire Monarch squad (57) all season long. Junior guard Alec Wizar follows with 15.1 points and 3.2 boards with 47 treys. Freshman forward Zach Brunner has netted 11.3 points with 5.8 rebounds while sophomore guard Tyler Jackson contributes 9.0 points and 4.0 assists with 21 three-pointers. Wilkes averages 73.1 points while yielding 71.9 each game.
