KING'S, MANHATTANVILLE SETTLED FOR 1-1 TIE
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's soccer team used a late first-half goal to tie the game and neither the Monarchs or visiting Manhattanville College would score over two overtime periods as the teams finished in a 1-1 tie Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the draw, King's stands at 10-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the Freedom Conference while Manhatannville is now 6-5-2 and 0-1-1 in league play.
Manhattanvlle opened the scoring with 37:21 left in the first half when Eddie Silber headed in a corner kick delivery from Jesper Hjalm.
The Monarchs tied the score with 4:20 remaining in the opening stanza when Chris Galeano recovered his own blocked shot and drilled in a score from 20 yards out as the teams entered the break deadlocked at 1-1.
Neither team would score over the next 65 minutes of regulation and overtime as both teams were unable to generate quality scoring chances.
King's outshot the Valiants 18-7 and also held a 10-8 edge in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Owen Geedey made one save while Manhattanville keeper Willie Silber posted three stops.
