KING'S MEN'S SOCCER RALLY TO RECORD 3-2 DOUBLE OT VICTORY AT FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON, N.J. --- Daniel Lorandini scored from 10 yards out 2:37 into the second overtime period to give the King's College men's soccer team an important 3-2 come from behind victory over host FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon in Madison, N.J.

King's was down 2-0 at halftime before rallying with two goals in the second half to tie the game. Playing in their second straight conference overtime game the Monarchs were able to secure a victory on Lorandini's goal.

The Monarchs improve to 11-2-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play with the win. FDU-Florham falls to 6-6-1 overall with a 2-1 league mark.

The Devils opened up the scoring with a goal just 10:06 into the game when Andrew Ruane tossed a throw-in into the box and Chaz Armand snuck the ball past the goalkeeper into the lower left of the goal. The Monarchs nearly tied it up when Erik Foster hit the crossbar on a shot just before the 16 minute mark. FDU-Florham was able to take a 2-0 halftime lead when AJ Carnevale scored in the box from the left wing in the 30th minute off a long pass from Ruane.

The Monarchs cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 54th minute when a Chris Nygren throw-in into the box deflected off a Devils defender and into goal. King's then tied the score 2-2 in the 83rd minute when Brendan Raab headed in a rebound off a shot from Kevin Hagmeier. Neither team was able to score in the rest of regulation and the first overtime period.

King's outshot the Devils 14-9 while both teams had eight corner kicks. Owen Geedey received the win in goal making one save for the Monarchs. Nick Mihalik made four saves in goal for FDU-Florham.

King's will return to the pitch on Saturday when they face cross-town rival Wilkes University at 1:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium in the Ralston Athletic Complex in Edwardsville, PA.
