King's Women's Soccer Forges 0-0 Tie With Wilkes

KING'S, WILKES WOMEN FINISH ON 0-0 OVERTIME TIE

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's soccer team was unable to find the net for the second straight gamel. The Monarch defense, however, was able to keep its opponent off the board for two consecutive games as well. The result on Saturday was a 0-0 double-overtime tie with cross-town rival Wilkes University.

The Monarchs have played in three straight double-overtime games. King's, which settled for a 0-0 double-overtime tie in its last game with FDU-Florham on Wednesday. Last Saturday, King's went two overtimes before eeking out a 1-0 win over Manhattanville. The Monarchs have now played 220 scoreless minutes.

In its game with Wilkes, King's was outshot 17-5 in the game and 7-3 in shots-on-goal.  The Lady Colonels also held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Jessica Natale picked up her third straight shutout with seven saves and lowered her goals-against average to 1.21 this season.

King's returns to action Wednesday with a 5:00 p.m. home matchup against Misericordia University.
