KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DOWNS SUMMIT, 2-0

CLARKS SUMMIT -- The King's College men's soccer team opened a two-goal half-time lead and the Monarchs walked away with a 2-0 triumph over host Summit University Thursday in Clarks Summit.

With the win King's improved to 10-2 on the year while Summit fell to 2-9.

King's got on the board first when Summit was the victim of an own goal, accidentally knocking the ball into its own net 19:40 into the game.

The Monarchs would later reach the scoreboard on their own when Erik Foster dribbled his way through the Defender defense and struck net in a one-on-one matchup with the Summit keeper.

Neither team would score the rest of the way.  King's held a 22-5 advantage in shots as well as a commanding 11-0 lead in corner kicks.  King's goalies Owen Geedey and Tyler Wilson made one save each.

King's will host an important Freedom Conference game Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. against Manhattanville College.
