KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROPS DECISION TO FDU-FLORHAM

WILKES-BARRE, PA --- The Lady Monarchs shot just 21.4 percent from the field in an 86-41 defeat to top-ranked FDU-Florham on Wednesday night at Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the loss, King's falls to 8-12 overall and 4-5 in the Freedom while FDU-Florham improves to 20-0 and 9-0 in Freedom play. The victory for the Devils also extends their winning streak to 53 games, which is the longest active streak in college basketball.

The Lady Monarchs missed their first 16 shots from the field as the Devils built a 29-2 lead over the course of the first 13 and a half minutes. King's shot just 10.7 percent from the field in the first half including 11.1 percent from beyond the three-point line.

Kayla Feairheller led King's with 13 points while Marissa Manning had a team high seven rebounds. Olivia Hoffman had four points, six rebounds, and two blocks. 

FDU-Florham had five players in double figures led by Kyra Dayon with 15 points. Alicia Cox had 14 points while Alyssa McDonough and Leigh-Ann Lively had 12 each. Delisha Thompson had 10 points. The Devils shot 43.2 (32.74) percent from the field and 40.7 (11-27) percent from three-point range.

The Lady Monarchs will next be in action on Saturday when they travel to Purchase, N.Y. for an important Freedom Conference game against Manhattanville College at 1:00 p.m.
