King's Men's Tennis Registers 6-3 Win Over Misericordia

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 6-3 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA

DALLAS -- The King's College men's tennis team won two-of-three doubles bouts to start the match, then clinched victory by winning four of the six singles matchups as the Monarchs posted a 6-3 victory over host Misericordia University Wednesday in Dallas.

With the win the Monarchs improved to 10-5 overall and 4-0 in Freedom Conference play while the Cougars fell to 5-7 and 0-2.

George Parkhurst, Tyler Ryman, and Nathan Carl were all winners in both singles and doubles.  Parkhurst earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles and teamed with John Labiak for a 8-5 doubles triumph.  Ryman was a 6-3, 6-1 singles victory and teamed with Carl for an 8-6 win in doubles. Carl, meanwhile, was a 6-2, 7-6 winner in singles.

Terry Briggs also posted a 6-4, 6-3 singles win to round out the Monarch scoring.

King's returns to the court Friday with a 4:00 p.m. home matchup against FDU-Florham at Kirby Park. On Saturday the Monarchs are also at home against the University of Scranton at 10:30 a.m. The Monarchs then host Marywood at 2:00 p.m.
