KING'S BASEBALL DEFEATS BAPTIST BIBLE, 12-2
 
WILKES-BARRE, PA --- The King's College baseball team defeated Baptist Bible 12-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Lipo Field.
 
King's improves to 6-18 with the win while Baptist Bible falls to 2-17.
 
Baptist Bible scored both of their runs in the top of the first. King's got one run back in the bottom of the inning. The Monarchs tied the game in the bottom of the fourth when Joe Zito singled home Bruce Breithaupt.
 
The Monarchs then scored six runs in the sixth inning to turn a tie game into an 8-2 lead. King's added one more run in the seventh and three in the eighth, two that came on Sean Padden's second home run of the year.
 
Kyle Lupas led the team with three hits, scoring two runs and knocking in one. Tom Gibbons had two hits and scored twice while knocking in one. Sean Padden scored two runs and had two RBIs on his home run. Ryan Hydock also had two hits scoring one run and knocking in two. Zach Palansky got the win on the mound allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings of work. Jared Smigelski pitched three innings of relief allowing just three hits and striking out four.
 
The Monarchs will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Dallas, PA to face Misericordia University at 4:00 p.m.
