KING'S MEN'S SOCCER OPENS SEASON WITH 2-0 WIN OVER URSINUSCOLLEGEVILLE — The defending Freedom Conference champion King's College men's soccer team opened their season on a high note, scoring one goal in each of the first and second halves to post a 2-0 road victory ver host Ursinus College Tuesday in Collegeville.
King's broke open a scoreless game at the 48:28 mark when
Daniel Lorandini struck net off an assist by
Brian Fenster. The Monarchs made it a 2-0 game when
Chris Galeano made good following a pass from
Tyler Harlan with 14:12 left in the contest.
Ursinus held a split 14-13 advantage in total shoys but the Monarchs led 7-5 in shots on goal. King's also led in corners 4-2. Monarch goalie
Owen Geedey made five saves to win his collegiate debut in net.
KIng's returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the RIT Invitational in Rochester, NY. The Monarchs face host RIT Saturday at noon.
