KING'S VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 8-0 WITH TRI-MEET SWEEP

BRYN ATHYN -- The King's College women's volleyball team improved to 8-0 with a sweep of a triangular meet Saturday at Bryn Athyn College.

King's defeated Rutgers-Newark in the opener 3-1 by scores of 33-31, 17-25, 25-22, 25-13.  In the second match King's defeated host Bryn Athyn 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.

In the opening match Rachel Miller had a team-high 17 kills with 13 digs. Katelyn Shifflett followed with 14 kills. Jill Korgeski tallied eight kills and seven digs while Jessica Carr contributed eight kills of her own. Maddie Kumm distributed 31 assists and seven digs while Emma Hanrahan added 14 assists. Brenna Smudde and Julie Kollar chipped in with 22 and 15 digs respectively.

In the second match Shifflett registered 14 kills and two aces while Korgeski followed with eight kills. Kumm totaled 23 assists. 

King's opens Freedom Conference play Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at DeSales University.
