King's Posts Overtime Winner on Caitlin Wood Penalty Stroke

KING'S FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATS MUHLENBERG ON OVERTIME PENALTY STROKE
ALLENTOWN -- Caitlin Wood scored the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke 6:08 into overtime as the King's College field hockey team posted a 1-0 victory over host Muhlenberg College Tuesday night in Allentown.

With the win King's improved to 4-3 while Muhlenberg slipped to 2-2.

After 70 scoreless minutes the teams headed to extra time where Muhlenberg was whistled for a violation in front of the Mules net. Wood calmly pushed across the game-winner, converting a penalty stroke in her second consecutive game.

Muhlenberg held a 13-8 lead in shots and owned a 8-7 advantage in penalty corners.
King's goalie Paige Tedik had six saves to register the shutout win.

King's will travel to face Immaculate University Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
