KING'S VOLLEYBALL POSTS TRI-MEET SWEEP ON HOMECOMINGWILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's volleyball team improved to 10-1 on the year with a doubleheader sweep of Gwynedd-Mercy University and Penn State Harrisburg Saturday on Homecoming in Scandlon Gymnasium.
KIng's defeated Gwynedd-Mercy by scores of 25-14, 25-20, 20-25, 25-12, then bester Harrisburg in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-20.
Against Gwynedd,
Rachel Miller led the way with 18 kills and eight digs while
Jill Korgeski followed with 10 kills and two blocks.
Emma Hanrahan dished out 23 assists with 11 digs while
Katelyn Shifflett added five kills and three digs.
Julie Kollar contributed four kills and eight digs while
Aubrey Gryskiewicz and
Elen O'Donnell contributed nine and eight digs respectively.
Kristen Bohnenblusch also chipped in with eight digs while
Brenna Smudde tallied six. Katie Carr had three kills and a block
In the win over PSU-Harrisburg, Kollar posted a team-high 11 kills with eight digs. Miller followed with nine kills and three digs while Korgeski and Shifflett added eight kills each. Carr had four kills and a block while Smudde registered 14 digs. Bohnenblusch chipped in with six digs.
KIng's returns to the court Tuesday when the Monarchs host nationally-ranked, defending conference champion Eastern University at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.
