KING'S MEN'T TENNIS POSTS 7-2 ROAD WIN OVER LYCOMING

WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College men's tennis team swept the doubles to start the match, then captured four of six singles bouts to post a 7-2 victory over host Lycoming College Sunday in Williamsport.

George Parkhurst, Nathan Carl, John Labiak, and Terry Briggs were all winners in both doubles and singles. Parkhurst and Labiak teamed to win at first doubles while Carl and Ryan Hegarty were victorious at number-two doubles. Briggs and Ryan Kopishke were winners in third doubles to propel the Monarchs to a 3-0 lead.

Parkhurst, Carl, and Briggs were also straight set winners in singles while Labiak dropped the first set before posting a gutty 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 11-9 triumph.

The Monarchs will be idle until the MAC Individual Championships October 17-18 at Kirby Park.
