KING'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS CENTENARY WITH 3-0 VICTORYWILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's volleyball team established itself from the start and used its entire 13 player roster as the Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over visiting Centenary College Thursday night in Scandlon Gym.
King's, which won by scores of 25-, 25-9, 25-12, improved to 2-0 on the year while Centenary slipped to 0-2.
Ten King's players saw action in at least two games, providing a balanced effort both offensively and defensively.
Elen O'Donnell led the team with eight kills and four digs while
Katelyn Shifflett added seven kills and two service aces.
Jill Korgeski also posted seven kills while
Emma Hanrahan dished out 20 assists with four digs.
Alexis Swagler tallied three kills while
Maddie Kumm registered seven assists and two digs. Kristen Bohnenblush snared a team-high 10 digs while
Brenna Smudde followed with six.
Olivia Musto contributed two kills and four digs while
Rachel Miller chipped in with one kill and three digs.
King's returns to the court Friday when the Monarchs host a tri-,meet with Penn College of Technology and Penn State Abington. King's plays Penn College at 3:00 p.m.; Penn State Abington then faces Penn College at 5:00 p.m., before KIng's wraps up play with a 7:00 p.m. matchup against Abington.
