KING'S SWIMMING TRI-MEET SATURDAY MOVED TO THURSDAY DUE TO THREAT OF SNOWWILKES-BARRE — With the threat of a snowstorm possibly moving into the region this weekend, the King's College swim team has elected to move its Saturday tri-meet on Saturday against Lycoming College and FDU-Florham ahead two days to Thursday (Jan. 21).
The site has also been moved from the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center to King's Scandlon Gymnasium. The tri-meet has also been rescheduled for a 6:30 p.m start.
The schedule change will interrupt a nine-year tradition between the three colleges of holding their tri-meet at the Wilkes-Barre C.Y.C., the former site of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. The tri-meet at the CYC began during the 2006-07 season. King's and Lycoming held a dual meet at the CYC a year earlier.
The tri-meet will now stand as King's final home meet of the season. It will also give the team a chance to use its brand-new scoreboard for the first time after being installed last week.
