KING'S WRESTLERS OPEN 2016 WITH SPLIT AT PA/NY DUALS

WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College opened the 2016 calendar year by splitting a pair of matches at the annual Pennsylvania/New York Duals Sunday at Lycoming College. Williamsport.

King's won its first match with a 26-15 win over Rochester Institute of Technology. The Monarchs then fell in its second match 25-15 to Oswego State University.

Matt Sparks was a double-winner for King's at 133, posting decisions of 5-4 and 4-2. Howard Kilpatrick also won both of his matches, earning decisions of 11-5 and 10-5, improving his season mark to a team-best 10-2. Ryan Logenberger picked up a pair of of forfeit wins for King's at 197.

Keith Wanamaker won his lone match at 165 with a pin in 6:06 against RIT while James Wright was an 8-4 winner against RIT in his only bout of the day. Edward Merrill and Ralph Bernardo each went 1-1 at 184 and 285 respectively. 

King's will return to Williamsport to compete again Friday and Saturday at the Budd Whitehill National Duals at Lycoming.
