KING'S MEN'S SOCCER POSTS 4-0 WIN OVER DELAWARE VALLEY

WILKES-BARRE -- Brenda Raab scored a pair of goals to power the King's College men's soccer team to an important 4-0 Freedom Conference victory over visiting Delaware Valley College Wednesday night in McCarthy Stadium.

With the win King's improved to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play while the Aggies fell to 5-9-1 and 0-5.

King's took a 1-0 lead 6:31 into the game when Chris Galeano stole the ball from a Delaware Valley defender to find himself with a breakaway and sidestepped Aggie keeper Connor Hedgepeth to place the ball inside the right post.

The Monarchs took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break when Raab's shot from  10 yards out deflected off an Aggie defender and into the net with 21:25 to go in the opening stanza.

The lead grew to 3-0 with 38:29 left in the contest when Kevin Mazol scored on a direct kick from 25 25 yards out. The Monarchs added the final goal with 12:26 remaining when Raab scored his second goal on a direct kick from 20 yards out.

King's dominated play throughout, owning a 27-4 advantage in shots as well as a 15-0 lead in corner kicks.Monarch goalie Own Geedey picked up the win while being forced to make just one save.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. matchup at defending Freedom Conference champion Eastern University.
