KING'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS TRI-MEET TO FINISH SEASON WITH 21-12 RECORD
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's volleyball team ended its season by sweeping both ends of a trim-meet on Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium to finish the 2016 campaign with a 21-12 record.
King's defeated the College of St. Elizabeth 3-0 in its opener by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-16. In its second match the Lady Monarchs bested Rutgers-Newark 3-0 by scores of 25-21, 25-21, 26-24.
In the match with St. Elizabeth, Rachel Miller had seven kills and 11 digs with four service aces. Katelyn Shifflett followed with six kills and four aces while Jill Korgeski added five kills with four digs. Maddie Kumm posted 23 assists with eight digs while Kristen Bohnenblusch tallied 12 digs.
Against Rutgers-Newark, Miller had 14 kills, 10 digs, and two aces while Shifflett followed with nine kills and four aces. Kumm distributed 34 assists and eight digs while Bohnenblusch tallied 16 digs.
