KING'S WRESTLERS COMPETE AT W&L DUALS

LEXINGTON, VA -- The King's College wrestling team finished with a 2-1 record at the Washington & Lee Duals Monday at Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Va.  

King's wrestled three matches on the day, but results were only made available for two of the matches. In their first match, the Monarchs fell to host Washington & Lee 26-19 but rebounded to defeat Trine University of Indiana 30-16. King's also defeated Southern Virginia University 45-9 in its final match of the day.

Against W&L, Dakota Quick earned a 12-2 major decision at 125 while Howard Kilpatrick (165), Zach Smith (174), and Ralph Bernardo (285) were all decision winners. Devin Steele also picked up a forfeit at 197.  In the match against Trine, Kilpatrick and Smith both earned pins while Quick tallied a 19-4 technical fall victory. Bernardo earned a major decision while Sparks posted a decision. Chris Coakley picked up a forfeit at 133-pounds.

Against Southern Virginia, the Monarchs picked up five forfeits in the match. Kilpatrick earned his second pin of the day at 165, as did Bernardo at 285. Smith posted a 10-1 major decision at 174. Kilpatrick, Smith, and Bernardo all went 3-0 on the day.
