KING'S WRESTLERS DROP FINAL DUAL MEET OF THE SEASON TO WILKES
WILKES-BARRE - The host Wilkes University wrestling team jumped out to a 19-0 lead en route to posting a 41-6 victory over visiting King's College in the Monarchs final dual meet of the 2015-16 season.
Wilkes posted two technical falls, a pin, and a decision in thee first five bouts before Howard Kilpatrick got King's on the board with a 3-2 decision at 157. Kilpatrick improved to 23-7 on the year with the win
Wilkes then got a major decision at 165, and a pin at 184, sandwiched around a pair of forfeit victories at 174 and 197 to push the lead to 41-3.
King's picked up a decision in the final bout when Ralph Bernardo earned an 11-4 victory to set the final score. Bernardo upped his season ledger to 19-8.
King's will be idle until the Monarchs compete in the NCAA East Regional Championships February 27-28 at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va.
