KING'S WRESTLERS SPLIT TRI-MEET WITH MT. ST. VINCENT, CENTENARY

HACKETTSTOWN — The King's College wrestling team split a tri-meet with Mt. St. Vincent College and Centenary College Tuesday night in Hackettstown, NJ. The Monarchs downed Mt. St. Vincent 48-12 before dropping a 31-15 decision to Centenary.

Against Mt. St. Vincent, king's picked up six forfeits in the match. Keith Wanamaker earned a pin at 165-pounds while Rene Sousa also registered a fall as 174-pounds.

Against Centenary, James Wright posted an 11-0 major decision at 125 before Dakota Connor tallied a 17-1 technical fall at 133 to give the Monarchs a 9-0 lead.  But Centenary won the next seven bouts to build a 31-9 lead. Ralph Bernardo then picked up a forfeit at heavyweight to set the final score.

The Monarchs will wrap up the dual meet season next Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. matchup at cross-town rival Wilkes University.
