King's Men's Tennis Registers 8-1 Victory over Eastern in Freedom Conference Opener

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS DOWNS EASTERN 8-1 IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE OPENER

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team opened up its 2016 Freedom Conference schedule in fine fashion as the Monarchs posted a 8-1 victory over Eastern University Saturday at Kirby Park.

The Monarchs won two of three doubles contests to start the match before the Monarchs clinched the victory by sweeping all six singles bouts without dropping a set.

George Parkhurst, Nathan Carl, and Terry Briggs were each winners in both singles and doubles for King's. Matt James, John Labiak, Trry Briggs and Ryan Kopishke all added singles triumphs for the Monarchs. Parkhurst and Carl teamed up for a win at number-one doubles while Briggs and Ryan Hegarty were winners at third doubles.
