KING'S MEN'S TENNIS CLINCHES FREEDOM TOURNEY BERTH WITH 7-2 WIN OVER MISERI
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team clinched a Freedom Conference Tournament berth with a 7-2 victory over visiting Misericordia University Saturday at Kirby Park.
With the win the Monarchs improved to 9-7 overall and 3-1 in league play while Misericordia slipped to 3-5 and 1-3.
George Parkhurst and Nathan Carl were winners in singles and doubles. Parkhurst was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at number-one singles while Carl was victorious 6-4, 7-5 in the second flight. The duo teamed up with win 8-2 at number-one doubles.Ryan Hegarty was a three-set winner at number-five singles while Terry Briggs was a 6-4, 6-4 victor in the sixth flight. Hegarty and Briggs also teamed up to win 8-4 at third doubles.  John Labiak added a singles win for King's.
Christian Pugliese was the lone singles winner for the Cougars and also teamed with Alec Rodway to capture the lone win in doubles for Misericordia.
