KING'S VOLLEYBALL POSTS TRI-MEET SWEEP OF PURCHASE, CCNY

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's volleyball team improved its mark to 7-2 as the Lady Monarchs swept both ends of a tri-meet Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

In its opener, King's downed SUNY-Purchase by scores of 25-10, 25-6, and 25-8.  Against CCNY, King's won by scores of 25-12, 25-6, and 25-12.  CCNY defeated Purchase 3-0 in the other matchup

Against Purchase, King's was paced by Michaela Leblanc with eight kills and two digs while Julie Kollar added eight kills and six assists. Nicole McQuillan posted six kills while Sydney Reigel tallied five kills. Maddie Kumm dished out 14 assists with seven aces while Olivia Musto chipped in with nine digs. Emma Hanrahan totaled six aces while Jessica Prebola contributed four aces. King's had 24 services aces in the match.

In the CCNY match, Katelyn Shifflett posted 10 kills and four service aces. Rachel Miller added six kills  and five aces. Kollar tallied 18 assists, five kills, two aces, and nine digs, while Jessica Carr registered five kills and four digs. Kumm chipped in with 10 assists.

King's will return to MAC Freedom Conference play Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. home matchup with FDU-Florham in Scandlon Gymnasium.
