KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS TRI-MEET
ABINGTON -- The King's women's volleyball team split a tri-match Friday at Penn State Abington. King's lost 3-2 to host PSU-Abington before downing Brooklyn College 3-0.
In the opener King's dropped the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22 before winning the next two 25-13 and 25-18 to even the match. The Lady Monarchs, however, dropped the deciding set 15-10.
Rachel Miller had 17 kills and 28 digs to pace King's while Katelyn Shifflet added nine kills and four digs while Julie Kollar contributed eight kills and 20 assists. Nicole McQuillan chipped in with five kills while Kristen Bohnenblusch tallied 20 digs.
Against Brooklyn, King's won the match by scores of 25-15, 25-13, and 25-7.
Shifflett posted a team-high seven kills while McQuillan followed with six kills. Olivia Musto registered five kills while Miller added four kills and four digs. Maddie Kumm distributed 12 assists.
