King's Wrestlers to Make Home Dual-Meet Debut Tuesday Against Scranton

KING'S WRESTLERS MAKING HOME DUAL MEET DEBUT TUESDAY VS. SCRANTON
(Monarch Coach Ned McGinley Recognized as Longest Tenured Active Coach in NCAA)


WILKES-BARRE — Finally!  The King's College wrestling team returns to Scandlon Gymnasium!

After over two months of competition, the King's College wrestling team will finally make its home dual-meet debut Tuesday night when the Monarchs play host to local rival University of Scranton at 7:30 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium. It will be the first time King's will compete in Scandlon Gym since the season-opening Monarch Invitational Tournament on November 5

King's has wrestled all 17 dual meet matches on the road this season and enters the meet with a 7-10 record. Scranton, meanwhile, enters the match with a 10-0 dual-meet ledger.

McGinley
The Monarchs are led by veteran head coach Ned McGinley who is in his 48th year as the Monarchs' head coach. McGinley was recently credited as the longest-tenured active wrestling coach at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels by the Jason Bryant, President of the National Wrestling Media Association. Don Murray of Division III Brockport State is in his 47th year while Pat Pecora of Division II Pitt-Johnstown is in 41st season.

King's is paced by junior heavyweight Ralph Bernardo who is 14-2. Junior Howard Kilpatrick is 12-3 at 165; freshman Dakota Quick is 11-3 at 125; while junior Zach Smith is 10-3 at 174. Junior Matt Sparks is 5-4 at 141.

Ian Evans is 23-2 at 157 while Nick DePierro is 19-4 at 125. Sal Montuori is 19-7 at 285 while
Daniel D'Agostini stands at 11-3 at 184.
