In the second half the Colonels looked to get on the board early in the 54th minute when a shot from Cole Hefner got over the head of Geedey but the ball went off the crossbar and back into the field of play where the King's defense knocked it away. The Monarchs responded with a header from
Zach Wolcott in the 57th minute and a shot from McLoughlin in the 64th minute but neither shot was able to find the back of the net. The Monarchs responded by taking the ball down the field where Raab took a shot that Gallagher was able to knock out of bounds setting up the corner kick that would result in the game's lone goal.
The Colonels gave one last burst at the Monarchs with back-to-back corner kicks followed by a shot high and a header that Geedey was able to save in the 85th minute. Wilkes had one final chance at the end of the game when they received a free kick from in front of their bench with just seconds remaining but the King's defense came up big one final time blocking a last second attempt at goal by Camry Huff.
