King's Volleyball Registers Important MAC Freedom Conference Victory over Misericordia, Improves to 4-1 in League Play

KING'S VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP IMPORTANT LEAGUE VICTORY OVER MISERICORDIA, 3-1

DALLAS -- The King's College women's volleyball team inched one step closer to a MAC Freedom Conference Tournament berth as the Lady Monarchs posted an important 3-1 victory over host Misericordia University Wednesday night in the Anderson Center.

King's, which won by scores of 25-13, 15-25, 25-14, 25-22, improved to 17-8 overall and 4-1 in conference games. Misericordia slipped to 12-14 and 1-4 in league matches. The win also enabled King's to finish 2-0 in its local rivalries with Wilkes and Misericordia.

Rachel Miller led King's with 11 kills, 12 digs, and three total blocks. Julie Kollar followed with 10 kills and 16 digs while Jill Korgeski added nine kills, 17 digs and six total blocks. Katelyn Shifflett contributed eight kills, 14 digs, and five blocks while Maddie Kumm handed out 37 assists with six digs.  Hannah Gallagher chipped in with six kills, six digs, and six total blocks.

King's posted a season-high 22 total blocks in the match with two solo blocks and 20 block assists.

Tara Welliver led Misericordia with 10 kills while Ariana Gagliardi posted 26 assists. 

King's will be idle until Tuesday when the Lady Monarchs host defending MAC Freedom Conference champion Eastern University at 7:00 PM in Scandlon Gymnasium.
