KING'S MEN'S SOCCER PICKS UP IMPORTANT 4-0 MAC FREEDOM WIN OVER DELAWARE VALLEY

DOYLESTOWN -- The King's College men's soccer team took  a 1-0 lead into the half-time break, then exploded for three second half scores as the Monarchs posted an important MAC Freedom Conference victory over host Delaware Valley University Saturday night in Doylestown.

With the win King's improved to 10-3-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Aggies fell to 4-8 and 0-4.

King's took a 1-0 lead just 1:29 into the game when Will Brack headed in a corner kick feed from Kevin Mazol

The Monarchs took the led into the second half before scoring with 32:42 left in the contest when August Axtman converted a penalty kick. The score grew to 3-0 when Mazol delivered a corner kick to the far post, which was one-touched back to the opposite post by Brendan Raab, where John Waring tapped the ball into the net with 22:12 remaining.

The Monarchs pushed the score to 4-0 on a through-ball from Liam McLoughlin to Zack Wolcott with 19:21 left in the contest.

King's outshot Delaware Valley 15-4 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Owen Geedey made two saves to extend his school-record career shutout mark to 22.

King's returns home Tuesday at 7:00 PM when the Monarchs host Eastern University in a pivotol Freedom Conference matchup at McCarthy Stadium.
