KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT DESALES, CLINCHES FIRST MAC FREEDOM TOURNEY BERTH SINCE 2008
CENTER VALLEY -- The King's College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to first-place DeSales University in a MAC Freedom Conference matchup Wednesday night in Center Valley. But in the process, the Lady Monarchs clinched their first conference tournament berth since 2008.
DeSales, which improved to 20-8 and 7-0 in conference games, won by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.Â
With the loss, King's slipped to 18-10 and 4-3 in league play.
Rachel Miller led King's with 13 kills and nine digs while Jill Korgeski followed with seven kills, eight digs, and three aces. Katelyn Shifflett added six kills and 10 digs while Maddie Kumm dished out 26 assists with 10 digs.  Hannah Gallagher chipped in with three kills and five digs.
King's will close out the regular-season Friday with a home match against Lycoming College and Marywood University. Â King's faces Lycoming at 3:00 PM and Marywood at 7:00 PM. Â Lycoming and Marywood will play at 5:00 PM,
