KING'S FIELD HOCKEY TRAVELING TO DESALES FOR FINAL PLAYOFF SPOT
WILKES-BARRE -- The fourth and final MAC Freedom Conference Tournament berth will be on the line tonight when the King's College field hockey team travels to Center Valley to play DeSales University in a 6:00 PM matchup.

King's enters the game with a 8-9 overall record while standing 3-3 in league play while DeSales is 9-7 and is also 3-3. With FDU-Florham, Wilkes, and Misericordia all securing playoff berth, the King's-DeSales winner will secure the last berth. King's, which won the 2016 Freedom title, is looking for a chance to defend its conference crown but must win tonight to have the opportunity.
Junior Kelsey Gabriele tops King's with 29 points in 12 goals and five assists. Senior Brianna DiMaggio follows with 16 points on six goals and four assists while fellow senior Selina Malacari adds 12 points on five goals and two assists. Seniors Sarah Zbierski, Symantha Sharon, and Anastasia Araviakis anchor King's defense and midfield.
If King's is victorious it will play in the Freedom Conference Tournament semi-finals Wednesday at an opponent to be determined after the regular-season concludes tonight.
