KING'S MEN'S HOCKEY DROPS FIRST-EVER GAME 6-2 TO BROCKPORT

PITTSTON -- Freshman Cameron Anklewich earned his place in history as the answer to a trivia question as he scored the first-ever goal in King's College men's ice hockey history, But the Monarchs fell in their NCAA varsity debut to Brockport State University 6-2 Friday night at Revolution Ice.

Connor Hutching scored three goals and Casey Winn added three assists to pace the Brockport attack.

The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead with 8:16 left in the first period on a Hutching goal. Brockport added two more scores in the opening frame by David Horan and a second by Hutchins to build a 3-0 after the opening 20 minutes.

After the Golden Eagles took a 4-0 lead on a second-period power-play goal by Danny Rock, King's pushed across its first goal ever when Anklewich struck net off assists by Jamie Lukas and Nicholas Palumbo.

Brockport added two more goals in the third period, including Hutching's third, to go ahead 6-1. The Monarchs added the final goal of the game when Chris Conlin found the back of the net on a pass from Luciano Bucci.

Brockport outshot King's 48-13. King's goalie Jake Tugnutt made 42 saves in the game.

King's returns to action November 4 at Elmira College.
