KING'S MEN'S ICE HOCKEY FALLS TO STEVENSON
PITTSTON -- The Stevenson University men's ice hockey team broke open a one-goal game with two scores over the final 2:50 of the game as the Mustangs posted a 4-1 victory over host King's College Friday night at Revolution Ice in Pittston,
With the win Stevenson improved to 3-0-1 overall and 3-0 in the UCHC while King's slipped to 0-3 and 0-2 in league play.
Stevenson took a 2-0 led into the second period on goals by Mike Davis and Dom Brezena.
After a scoreless second, King's cut the lead to 2-1 on a Nicholas Palumbo goal with 7:45 remaining.
But Stevenson got a power play goal from Davis with 2:50 to play, then a third goal from Davis with 0:49 on the clock to seal the victory.
Stevenson outshot King's 41-23 in the game. King's goalie Jake Tugnutt had 37 saves while Stevenson keeper Jacob Caffrey had 22 stops.
King's will return to the ice Saturday with a 7:00 PM home matchup wth Neumann University at Revolution Ice.
