KING'S MEN'S ICE HOCKEY HOSTING BRYN ATHYN FRIDAY NIGHT

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College men's hockey team will return to the ice Friday with a 7:00 PM home matchup against Bryn Athyn College at Revolution Ice Centre in Pittston.

Competing in its inaugural season, King's enters the contest with an 0-4 mark after falling to Neumann University 4-2 in its last game on Saturday. In Bryn Athyn, King's will be playing against a first-year NCAA Division III program, but the Lions are hardly new to the sport and enter the game with a 2-2 record.

Bryn Athyn has had a highly successful collegiate club team for a number of years before transitioning to NCAA varsity status this season.  A year ago, the Lions went 26-3 overall, including a 10-0 mark in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference. Bryn Athyn advanced to the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament in Columbus, Ohio where the team lost in the semi-finals of the "Frozen Four" by a 4-2 count to Aquinas College.

King's has been led offensively thus far by Nicholas Palumbo who has a team-high five points on two goals and three assists. Anthony Frati follows with three points on two goals and one assist. Cameron Anklewich has two points on two goals while Lucian Bucci has contributed one goal and one assist while Jamie Lukas and Nicholas Gullo have chipped in with two assists apiece.

In goal, Jake Tugnutt has played in two games, posting a 5.00 goals against average with 79 saves in 120 minutes.  Mike Cosentino has played in one game and has a 4.05 goals against average with 37 saves.  Link Ferch has also played one game and has a 7.00 GAA with 49 saves.

For Bryn Athyn, Julian Lever leads the team with three goals and one assist while Mike Perkett and Dakota Ulmer follow with one goal and three assists apiece. In goal, McKenzie Chambers is 2-2 and has a 2.52 goals against average with 112 saves.

King's will then take to the road on Saturday where the Monarchs will face Manhattanville College at 7:00 PM in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference matchup in Purchase,  NY
