KING'S WRESTLERS POST 48-6 VICTORY OVER KEYSTONE, McGINLEY TO WRAP UP FINAL MATCH THURSDAY AGAINST WILKES
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College wrestling team won five of the six matches wrestled and picked up four forfeits as the Monarch posted a 48-6 victory over visiting Keystone College Friday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win King's improved to 9-14 while Keystone slipped to 8-14.
King's jumped out to a 12-0 lead when
Dakota Quick and
James Wright both earned pins at 125 and 133-pounds respectively.
After the Monarchs picked up a forfeit at 131,
Tony Immediato gave KIng's a 21-0 lead with a 6-0 decision at 149.
Keystone won its lone match at 157 when Thomas Pashinski posted a pin to trim the lead to 21-6. After the Monarchs gained a forfeit at 165, King's upped the lead to 30-6 after
Zach Smith registered a 8-1 decision at 174. King's picked up 18 points over the final three matches on the strength of an
Eddie Merrill pin at 197, as well as forfeit victories at 184 and 285 to set the final score.
The Monarchs close out the dual meet season Thursday night with a 7:00 PM home matchup against Wilkes University as retiring King's head coach Ned McGinley coaches the final dual meet of his 48-year career
