KING'S WOMEN FALL TO EASTERN, 75-49

ST. DAVIDS -- The King's College women's basketball team built a 17-14 first quarter lead by the Lady Monarchs were outscored 51-32 the rest of the way as host Eastern University posted a 75-49 victory Saturday in St. Davids.

With the win, Eastern improved to 14-7 overall and 5-5 in Freedom Conference play while King's slipped to 4-16 and 2-8.

King's shot 50.0 (7-14) percent from the field in the first quarter, but just 8.0 (1-12) in the second quarter where the Lady Monarchs were outscored 18-4 to fall behind 32-21 at the break. Eastern put the game away in the third quarter by outscoring King's 25-15 to build a 57-36 lead.

Taylor Price led Eastern with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Lavin followed with 10 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots while Regie Robinson also added 10 points with five boards and three assists.  

For King's, Rebecca Prociak had 12 points and seven rebounds while Alexis Steeber followed with 10 points and seven boards. Kayla Feairheller added nine points and six assists while Olivia Hoffman chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

The Lady Monarchs return to the court Wednesday with a 6:00 PM matchup at local rival Misericordia University.
