KING'S MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO FDU-FLORHAM 5-4 IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

WILKES-BARRE, PA --- The visiting FDU-Florham men's tennis team won four of the six singles matches to edge King's College 5-4 in the regular season finale for both teams at Kirby Park on Saturday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre.

The Devils improve to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in conference matches while locking up the second seed for this week's conference tournament with the victory. The Monarchs fall to 10-8 overall and finish conference play with a 4-2 record. The Monarchs will be the third seed in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Tournament where they will have a rematch with FDU-Florham in the semifinal match on Tuesday in Madison, N.J.

Nathan Carl and Tyler Millan won in singles and doubles for the Monarchs. Carl teamed with Luke Whitenight for an 8-5 victory in doubles and then won 6-0, 6-3 his singles match. Millan teamed with Josh Mesaris to record a 9-8 (13-11) victory in doubles and then improved his singles record to 23-1 with a 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 victory.

Third-seeded King's and second-seeded FDU-Florham will face off against each other in the MAC Freedom semifinal for the fifth consecutive year on Tuesday in Madison, N.J. The Monarchs won the first three meetings before the Devils won last year's match 5-4. A time and location of the match will be announced once it becomes available. The match will likely not be played on FDU-Florham's campus due to conference rules.
