KING'S MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 6-3 WIN OVER ELIZABETHTOWN
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men' tennis team opened up a 2-1 lead after doubles, then captured four of the six singles contests to post a 6-3 victory over visiting Elizabethtown College Monday at Kirby Park. With the win King's improved to 4-5 while the Blue Jays fell to 2-7.
King's number-one doubles team of Nathan Carl and Luke Whitenight were 8-6 winners, while Tyler Millan and Josh Mesaris posted a 9-7 triumph at second doubles for the Monarchs.
In singles play, MAC champion Millan improved to 15-1 on the year with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the second flight. Whitenight added an important 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 comeback victory at number-three while Mesaris also won a three-setter with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 triumph in the fourth flight. Cameron Tuck added the Monarchs final singles win with a 6-4, 7-5 decision at number-six.
King's returns to action Wednesday with a 3:30 PM matchup at Misericordia.
