KING'S MEN'S TENNIS IMPROVES TO 3-0 IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE WITH 7-2 VICTORY OVER EASTERN
ST. DAVIDS -- The King's College men's tennis team remained unbeaten in MAC Freedom Conference play as the Monarchs posted a 7-2 victory over host Eastern University Saturday in St. Davids.
With the win King's improved to 6-5 overall and 3-0 in league matches while eastern slipped to 1-7 and 0-3.
King's took a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition as
Josh Mesaris and
Luke Whitenight were 8-1 winners in the second flight and
Terry Briggs and
Ryan Kopishke won the third flight pairing 8-1.
The Monarchs then sewed up the match by winning five of the six singles contests.
Tyler Millan improved to 17-1 on the year with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph in the second flight. Whitenight, Mesaris, Briggs, and Kopishke all won without dropping a set.
The Monarchs return to the court Tuesday, hosting Clarks Summit University at 3:30 PM at Kirby Park.
