KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER SETTLES FOR 0-0 TIE WITH LYCOMING
WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College and Lycoming College women's soccer teams battled through 90 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods to determine a victory. But after the smoke cleared following 110 minutes of play, both teams were forced to settle for a 0-0 tie in a non-conference matchup Wednesday night in Williamsport.
With the draw, King's stands at 3-2-1 on the year while Lycoming is now 3-4-1.
The first half saw stingy defense as King's mustered four shots while the Warriors managed only two. Lycoming outshot King's 8-6 in the second half as the squads each posted 10 shots after regulation.
In the first overtime King's took all four shots of the extra session but Lycoming held a 2-1 advantage in the second overtime period. The Lady Monarchs would hold a 15-12 lead in shots at the end of the contest while Lycoming owned an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks.
King's goalie Elizabeth Nolen tallied six saves while warrior goalies Joelle Winey and Madi Welliver combined for eight.
King's returns to the pitch Saturday night with a 5:00 PM home matchup against Lebanon Valley College.
