King's Grapplers Split Tri-Meet with Gettysburg, Penn College

KING'S GRAPPLERS SPLIT TRI-MEET WITH GETTYSBURG, PENN COLLEGE

WILLIAMSPORT --  The King's College wrestling team split a pair of matches Saturday at a tri-meet at Penn College of Technology in Williamsport.

In its first match, the Monarchs fell to Gettysburg College 33-6. In its second match, King's and Penn College battled to a 21-21 tie, but King's was awarded the victory based on NCAA dual meet criteria. The Monarchs won five matches compared to four for Penn College. There was a no-contest at 125-pounds.

Eddie Merrill was the lone double-winer for King's with a pair of decisions at 197-pounds. Jake Taylor and Ralph Bernardo went 1-1 for the Monarchs at 141 and 285 respectively. Jake Daniel (149), Sean Floto (165), and Anthony Harmon-Miller (174) were all winners against Penn College.

KIng's will return to the mat Saturday when the Monarchs host the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
