PITTSTON, Pa. - Five different Thunder players recorded goals against the Monarchs in a 5-2 Trine victory on Saturday night at the Revolution Ice Centre.

With the loss King's falls to 0-14-0 while Trine moves to 4-9-2.

Trine came out strong offensively in the first, taking 25 shots and making three goals. Sammy Nardicchio put Trine on the board first after four minutes of play, and Ben Lau and Corey Robertson added two more before the 11 minute mark.

The King's offense began to heat up in the second, outshooting the visiting Thunder 13-12 while recording their first goal of the night 8 minutes into the period. Tommy Green was able to pick up his first career-goal after redirecting a Jack O'Neil shot in front of the net.

A Jackson Tucker tripping penalty early in the third gave the Monarchs the man advantage that they were immediately able to capitalize on. Luciano Bucci was able to take the Bucci feed to cut the lead to 3-2 with 15 minutes remaining.

Neither team was able to score until the 12 minute mark when Chris Timm of Trine made the goal to put the Thunder up 4-2. The Monarchs would pull the goalkeeper in the final minutes, but Trine recorded an empty netter to seal the game at 5-2.

Jake Tugnutt made 46 saves for the Monarchs while Brett Young had 16.

King's returns to action on Jan. 9 for a home contest against Western New England University at 5 p.m.
