Monarch Field Hockey Game Notes - Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 15, 2018) – The King's College field hockey team will visit cross-town rival Wilkes University at Schmidt Stadium in Edwardsville, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon in their final road game of the regular season. A showdown between two MAC Freedom playoff contenders that are each 3-1 in MAC Freedom play will make the playoff picture clearer.

Last Time Out: In one of the most exciting games of the season so far, the Monarchs earned a crucial 3-2 double overtime victory at Manhattanville on Saturday night. Kelsey Gabriele recorded the first hat trick of her illustrious career for King's in the victory, tying the game on a penalty stroke, and then winning it in double overtime.

  • Wilkes will clinch their sixth straight MAC Freedom playoff berth with a win and a Misericordia loss at Eastern on Wednesday.
  • The Colonels have registered 25 assists this season, the most in the MAC Freedom.
  • Wilkes also has 6.50 points per game, the highest in the conference.
  • Wilkes has scored 2.36 goals per game, the second most in the conference.
  • Zoe Stepanski is third in the MAC Freedom with 6 assists.
  • Haley Gayoski is tied for fourth in the conference with 5 assists.
  • Gayoski leads the team with 5 goals and 15 points.
  • Dallas Kendra is fourth in the MAC Freedom with a .737 save percentage.
  • Sophomore Maddie Kelley notched her first multi-assist game of her career, assisting in two first-half goals in the team's 4-1 victory over Delaware Valley last Friday night.
  • Kelley's four assists on the season ranks her tied for eighth in the conference.
