Monarch Volleyball Match Notes - Marywood University Tri-Match

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (October 19, 2018) – King's College celebrates a win at Lycoming just this Thursday before they prepare to participate in the Marywood University Tri-Match. Saturday, October 20, the team will play Marywood at 11:00 a.m. followed by Pratt Institute at 1:00 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Monarchs took on Lycoming College, defeating the Warriors in five sets on their home court. The 3-2 win went back and forth between teams with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-22,18-25 and an extra set of 16-14. Rachel Miller led the team in kills with 25 for the night followed by Becca Goldberg with 13 and Rachel Galante with 10. Karissa Hartzell accumulated a season-high of five aces as well as 22 digs and Wiatt Hoffman assisted 55 times.
 
The Book on King's (18-8, 3-3 MAC Freedom):
  • King's has won both games in three out of their four tri-matches this season.
  • In those tri-matches all victories but one has been in three sets.
  • Miller still holds the teams top spot for kills with 359 which also makes her third in the conference for total kills as well as 14th in the nation.
  • She also is third for total attacks and 15th nationally recording 983, second for points per set (4.45) and kills per set (4.08).
  • Taylor Mueller is second in MAC Freedom averaging .60 aces per set and third for total service aces with 48.
  • Mueller is also second in conference standings and 22nd in the nation for digs per set (5.69).
  • Hoffmann holds No.1 spot on the team for assists tallying 815.
  • Danielle Kitchner and Galante have 27 kills each tying them for first in team standings.  
The Book on the Pacers (13-8, 2-3 Atlantic East Conference)
  • The Pacers come off a 3-2 conference win at Gwynedd Mercy University that advanced their record to 2-3 in the AEC.
  • Marywood joined the AEC as of September 1, 2018.
  • The team sits at fourth in the conference overall.
  • The Pacers have a .619 hitting percentage for the season so far.
  • Gabriella Santos leads the team in kills with 173.
  • Currently, the Pacers are No. 1 in the league in blocks with a total of 114.
  • Mikayla Attwood has contributed 73 of those total blocks.
  • Sara Burgos has set up 567 players this season.
  • Jordan Vosseler is Marywood's defensive leader lifting 345 digs.
The Book on the Cannoneers (11-10, 0-0 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference):
  • Pratt is on a two-game win streak after defeating Cooper Union at home in three sets.
  • The Cannoneers are 1-4 in neutral site games.
  • Pratt records 8.90 kills pers set.
  • Their team leader for kills is Shannon Corr (147).
  • Freshman Avery Toomes is another offensive leader contributing 239 assists this season and 46 service aces.
  • Ivana Santascoy has tallied 215 digs averaging 3.12 per set.
  • Junior Cori Glidden leads in total blocks with 20 and has put up 69.5 points this season.
