WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 4, 2018) – The King's College women's volleyball team will host the Kings College Tri-Match at McGrane Gymnasium this Saturday, October 6. The match features the Albright College Lions (6-9, 0-5) and Rutgers-Newark Scarlett Raiders (12-5, 2-2). First to take the court will be the Monarchs and Lions at 11:00 a.m., followed by Albright vs. Rutgers-Newark at 1:00 p.m. and topped off with King's taking on the Scarlett Raiders at 3:00 p.m. King's looks to extend their victory run to five games while both visitors strive to break their losing streaks.

- The Monarchs are coming off a win against Centenary University 3-0.
- KC has a 14-9 overall record against Albright.
- Rutgers-Newark has fallen in both matches ever played against King's, in the last contest took place in 2016 and the Monarchs swept the match in three sets.
- King's is second in MAC Freedom for digs averaging 17.14 a set, Taylor Mueller leads the team with 329 and is No. 2 in the conference.
- Mueller also hold the No. 2 spot in MAC Freedom for service aces notching 39 this season.
- Senior Rachel Miller stays at the top of the team in kills (244) making her third in the conference and good enough to snag No. 21 in the nation.
- Hoffmann sticks with the leading position in assists totaling 541.
- Second-year Galante has been putting up an exceptional defense tallying 19 blocks and contributing at least three kills in over 80% of matches played.
The Book on The Lions (6-9, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth):
- The Lion's are on a two-loss streak after falling to Lebanon Valley College in a conference match 0-3.
- Albright is 1-6 at away venues and 1-0 in neutral site play.
- The highest hitting percentage obtained by the Lions in a contest this season was .202.
- Damaris Gomez is Albright's offensive threat with 110 kills, recording a game-high eight as well as three digs in their last match.
- Gomez places fifth in MAC CW for kills.
- On the defensive side, Senior Becca Davis leads the team and the conference averaging 5.43 digs per set also propelling the team to the top spot for digs in the conference.
- Sophomore Bryana Chambers (18) has just one less block than King's leader Galante (19)
- Alexa Poss holds 285 assists and 34 aces for the season.
The Book on The Scarlet Raiders (12-5, 2-2 New Jersey Athletics Conference):
- The Scarlet Raiders are coming off a 0-3 loss to Stockton University in a New Jersey Athletics Conference match locking up their conference record to 2-2.
- This was the team's first at-home loss of the season.
- Rutgers-Newark has 598 kills this season, currently 45 more than their opponents.
- Comfort Akinbo leads the team in terminations with 183 in total and averages 3.98 per set.
- Akinbo holds the top spot in the conference for kills.
- The team is No. 1 in the NJAC for service aces with 193 and averaging 3.27 per set thanks to freshman Sharon Starling who heads the conference as well as the team with 53.
- Junior Brione Lockett is first in the NJAC for digs with 298 this season while the team as a whole ranks No. 7.
- Karly Gregoire has contributed 464 assists, 30 service aces and 16 kills for the Scarlet Raiders.
