ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (November 28, 2018) -- Host Elizabethtown College shot 57.1 percent from the floor Wednesday, pulling away from the King's College men's basketball team for a 93-63 win in non-conference action.
The Blue Jays shot 56.7 percent in the opening half, and then shot even better in the second half while holding King's to 31 percent shooting on the night. King's was within two midway through the first half, as freshman
Kevin Hunter nailed a three-pointer with 10:19 left in the opening stanza.
Elizabethtown went on a 12-0 run and took a 42-31 lead into halftime. After the break, the Blue Jays would continue to pull away for the win. King's had four starters in double figures, led by 11 points from sophomore
Noah Tanner, who also grabbed five boards.
Junior
Joe Lonardi posted his first double-double of the season with 10 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, shooting 5-of-14 from the floor, while
Tyler Millan and
Josh Bailey each chalked up 10 points. Freshman
Kevin Hunter scored nine points in 13 minutes of action in his first collegiate game, and
Andrew Hudak added six points.
Michael Pastore finished with a game-best 26 points to lead the way for Elizabethtown (3-2).
King's starts Middle Athletic Conference Freedom action Wednesday, December 5 at 6 p.m., taking on Eastern University in McGrane Gymnasium in conference play in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
