WILLIAMSPORT, PA (December 17, 2018) — The King's College wrestling team traveled to Lycoming College where the Warriors hosted the Lycoming Duals. The squad was able to pull out some exciting wins with
Dakota Quick and
Matt Sparks going 3-1 for the day. The Monarchs faced Penn Tech College, Muhlenberg College, Lycoming and University of Pittsburgh-Bradford.
The duals began with King's battling against Penn Tech College. The Monarchs ultimately dropped 33-11 with Quick, Sparks and
Nick Price contributing wins for the team. Quick took his match in a 10-9 decision while Sparks won in the first bit of overtime for a sudden victory match 10-8. Price was able to pin his opponent at 1:39.
Tony Immediato fell in a 6-1 decision and
Kade Kravits got caught in a pin for their first match of the day.
In the next match up, King's faced Muhlenberg who previously wrestled at the Ned McGinley Invitational in November. The Mules took the dual 39-12. Quick won his bout for the 125-weight class with a fall at 4:02. Sparks won in a 12-8 decision as well as Kravits with 7-4. Immediato and Price both dropped against their opponents.
The host Lycoming swept the Monarchs 59-0 in their dual, making every bout a win for the Warriors for the day.
With a final score of 30-16, Pittsburgh-Bradford took down the Monarchs in a hard fought battle. Quick won in a decision of 3-2making his final record of the day 3-1 along with Sparks who collected another victory. Kravits pulled out a 4-0 decision over his opponent and Price won his contest in a 14-1 major decision.
The Monarchs are off until Friday, January 4, when they head to the College of New Jersey for a double dual against the host TCNJ as well as New York University beginning at 12:00 p.m.
