King's Men's Tennis Blanks Penn State Abington 9-0 to Earn Seventh Straight Victory

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS DOWNS PSU-ABINGTON, 9-0 for SEVENTH STRAIGHT VICTORY

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's tennis team posted its seventh straight victory as the Monarchs blanked visiting Penn State Abington 9-0 Sunday at Kirby Park.

With the win, King's improved to 11-5 and has not lost since concluding its Spring Break trip to Florida on March 7.  PSU-Abington, meanwhile, slipped to 5-7.

The Monarchs won all six singles matches by dropping only one set on the day. Jason Homschek was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in the sixth flight while Cameron Tuck won a 8-0 pro-set at number-five singles. Tyler Millan won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles while Austin Mackey was a 6-0, 6-1 victor at number-four singles. Terry Briggs won 6-0, 6-2 in the third flight. Nathan Carol rallied form one set down to post a 3-6, 6-3, 10-3 victory in the number-one slot.

In doubles, Carl and Millan teamed for an 8-3 decision in the first flight while Mackey and Ryan Kopishke wee 9-7 winners at second doubles. Briggs and Tuck teamed up for a 9-7 win in the third doubles slot.

King's will next face defending MAC Freedom Conference champion Wilkes Tuesday at Kirby Park.
